This program help youth achieve and maintain healthy and positive lifestyles.
Peer Pressure Prevention? Our Clubs offer the peer pressure prevention and education program. It promotes abstinence from substance abuse and premature sexual involvement through the practice of responsible behavior. Based on proven techniques, this program uses a team approach of club professionals, peer leaders, parents and community representatives. The program engages young people in discussion and role-playing, where they practice resistance and refusal skills, develop assertiveness, strengthen decision-making skills and analyze media and peer influence.
Safety Awareness? Club members develop personal safety awareness and practical skills. We use role-playing, games and other participatory activities to show young people how to stay safe whether at the club, at home, at neighbour, in the open air.
Gang Prevention? Young people learn how to effectively resist gangsters and violence, resolve conflicts and be positive peer helpers in their communities. In addition, young people become involved in annual events that celebrate anti-drug and anti-violence topics.
Fitness through Fun? This program encourages members to get moving by learning and rehearsing various forms of dance each week. From step dance to Mexican heritage dances to jazz, tap, ballet and hip-hop, club members are doing sports every weekends. |
